Apart from the legendary hot chocolate, the Angelina Tearoom is best known for its unique chestnut offerings. The chestnut flavor makes very interesting confections, especially for people looking to find something more unique than the typical chocolate-based desserts. Because of its light nutty taste, the chestnut is very versatile and can successfully be used in both savory and sweet dishes.

At the Angelina Tea House, the chestnut is presented exquisitely in the Velouté de châtaignes which is a chestnut cream soup with summer truffle breakings. This rich, earthy soup is served beautifully in a small milk jug meant to be poured into the bowl of truffle pieces topped with a generous dollop of mascarpone.

For tea, the Angelina Tearoom has a chestnut offering as well. The Thé Mont-Blanc is made of black teas flavored with candied chestnuts, biscuit, toffee, orange blossom, and apricot. While it presents a complex flavor profile, the taste of chestnut really shines through.

For dessert, you definitely shouldn’t miss their most esteemed offering: the Mont Blanc. The Mont-Blanc is a beautiful confection where their famous chestnut cream is the star. Noodles of chestnut cream top a crisp meringue covered in light whipped cream. It’s easy to understand why they sell up to 600 of these a day in the tearoom alone and over 2,500 per day across the whole of France.

If the flavor of chestnut fascinates you, the Angelina Tearoom is definitely a place you’ll enjoy.
